Information about Neighborhood Solicitations
According to an ordinance of City of Hudson, Ohio, commercial solicitation is permitted in Hudson in residential areas between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. on weekdays, Saturday and Sundays, or at any time on a state or national holiday, but only after proper application and approval (and a paid fee of $25) from the City is obtained. All solicitors must wear and visibly display a solicitor ID card when soliciting in Hudson. The ID cards are valid for one year and expire in December no matter when they were approved.
Non-profits/tax-exempt organizations are not required to apply to the city; however, if a home is posted with a “No Solicitations” sign, it is a violation of City ordinances to attempt to solicit for donations, give information or request information.
Residents can obtain “no solicitation” signs that can be posted on a mailbox or house door from the Hudson Police Department at no cost.
